It assesses the suitability of mediation, identifies key issues, screens for risks like family violence, and ensures the process is safe and effective. During the session, we explain the FDR process, establish ground rules, and provide support or referrals if needed, setting the foundation for productive and respectful discussions.

A Section 60I certificate is issued when Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is required but mediation is unsuccessful or cannot proceed. This certificate may be provided if:

-One party refuses to participate in FDR.

-The matter is deemed unsuitable due to risks such as family violence or safety concerns.

-Mediation is attempted but no agreement is reached.

This certificate is necessary if you wish to apply to the Family Court for parenting orders, ensuring all reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute outside court have been made.
